The Uncle from Another World in Konosuba. Fanfic

You asked for it. The first fanfic to be adapted will be Isekai Ojisan in Konosuba.

And you asked for it to be narrated by an omniscient narrator. I apologize if the automatic dubbing translates the fanfic poorly, in which case you'll have the script in the description. I couldn't get a male voice. I hope the filter isn't too bad. So, here we go.

In January 2000, we meet Yosuke Shibazaki, an Otaku Sonic fanatic who went to the video game store to buy the new console, when suddenly a truck appeared and ran him over.

In front of the guy would be a woman... Well, you already know it's Aqua, otherwise this fanfic would have no purpose. Here I proposed to consider alternatives such as Aqua leaving a pre-recorded message in an unusable language, so the guy wouldn't understand and would have her power of being multilingual. Or also consider what if he heard Aqua and asked for something else. But I think Uncle's charm lies in his impulsiveness, and his special power as an isekai protagonist is precisely that he speaks all languages. It wouldn't be fair to give him a broken power only to have him die like an idiot. So I hope I got it right.

The spirits in Konosuba and Isekai Ojisan don't work the same way, but they're somewhat similar, so Uncle will certainly use their help in some areas, but in general, he'll rely on his own abilities according to Konosuba's internal logic.

Yōsuke (thought):

—Okay... this looks just like the Final Fantasy IX loading screen, but with lower resolution.

In front of him appears a young woman with blue hair and a radiant white dress.

Aqua:

—Yōsuke Shibazaki, welcome to the afterlife.

Yōsuke (loudly):

—Oh! It's like a welcoming NPC!

(Looks her up and down)

Although... with improved textures.

Aqua:

"Excuse me?"

Yōsuke:

"Nothing, nothing... continue with your conversation."

Aqua clears her throat, with that divine authority that doesn't seem to impress the guy.

Aqua:

"You died in an accident. You can go to heaven, where you'll have eternal peace... or be reincarnated as a baby and start a new life."

Yōsuke:

"Uh-huh... and are there video games in heaven?"

Aqua:

"No... I think I should tell that to the next people who come here.

Yōsuke:

"What if I'm reincarnated? I guess starting from scratch isn't as fun?"

Aqua:

"No."

Yōsuke:

"Then I'll pass."

Aqua sighs, as if she's talking to a very difficult customer in customer service.

Aqua:

—Well… I have another offer. A fantasy world full of magic and monsters, with video game logic. The looting and later the Demon King's army spread terror and death. No one in that world wants to be reborn, so their population is completely declining, and it's bad. If that's why we decided to send people who have died in other worlds with all their memories. We offer something new. You have the right to take with you anything you want very much. It could be a powerful weapon or a great talent. If you defeat the Demon King, we will grant you one wish.

Yōsuke:

—Oh… any ability?

Aqua:

—Yes, anything. Divine powers, legendary artifacts, forbidden magic…

Yōsuke (without letting her finish):

—I want the ability to understand anyone who speaks!

Aqua:

—… What?

Yōsuke:

—Look, I've played RPGs in English without knowing English. But in a new world, I won't be farming grammar experience. I'll pass. I want self-translation.

Aqua:

—But…

Yōsuke:

—Without that, I'll have to learn medieval languages, elven dialects… no, thanks.

Aqua, visibly disappointed, snaps her fingers.

Aqua:

—Very well. I grant you the power of “Wild Speech”: you will be able to communicate with any living being, spirit, or monster.

Yōsuke:

—Perfect. Now then, activate the cinematic and let's go.

Aqua:

—Brave hero, I will pray that you are the one who defeats the Demon King.

Yōsuke:

—Yes, thanks. Otherwise, you'd get more reincarnations if you made a presentation more like a game, something like "there's a world that could lose its peace at the hands of the demon king's army, the lives of its brave inhabitants have been affected, or something like that."

And with a flash of light... the guy disappears.

Aqua: Overacting a little? I guess it could work.

Yōsuke lands face first on the ground.

Yōsuke:

—Ouch! …Okay, don't hurt me.

He gets up and looks around: a lush forest, birds singing, a pleasant breeze...

Yōsuke (thinking):

—First stage of any game.

Forest for tutorial and initial farming. Surely the monsters here are level 1.

He starts walking and, after a couple of hours, he spots a walled city in the distance.

Yōsuke:

—Perfect, it's a typical "starter town." They probably have an inn, a weapons store, and...

Before he can finish his sentence, three men armed with knives confront him.

Bandit 1:

—Hold on, stranger! Give us everything you have!

Yōsuke blinks in surprise.

Yōsuke (thinking):

—Wow... a strange language, but I understand it perfectly. It speaks Wild activated!

He tries to remember the logic of video games.

Yōsuke:

—I'm sure these are tutorial bandits. If I give up, They steal a few coins from me and let me continue…

He raises his hands and searches his pocket.

Yōsuke:

—Here, take everything I have.

(He takes out some yen bills)

The bandits look at each other.

Bandit 2:

—What is this? A talisman? Magic from another realm?

Yōsuke:

—No, it's Japanese money. With this you can buy—

Bandit 3:

—It must be a magic seal! Steal it and don't leave him alive!

Yōsuke:

—…Wait, that doesn't happen in RPGs!

Without further ado, they beat him to the ground and flee.

[Later, at the city entrance]

Yōsuke, bleeding from his eyebrow, drags his feet to the gate.

Yōsuke (thinking):

—Okay… first important fact: the currency here isn't the yen. Tutorial not completed.

Using his gamer instinct, he searched for the most obvious place to begin the adventure: the Adventurer's Guild, a place he'd seen numerous times in his favorite games. Upon arriving, he saw the guild was filled with people of all races and classes, from muscular warriors to mages in shining robes.

He entered the building determined to register as an adventurer, hoping to follow the same path he had in the games. He approached the reception desk, where the receptionist greeted him with a friendly smile.

—Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild!—said the waiter.

He staggered in, but no one seemed surprised to see him injured.

Yōsuke, with his best otaku attitude, responded enthusiastically:

—Hello. I'm here to register as an adventurer. I've heard you can take all kinds of quests here.

The receptionist nodded with a smile.

"Exactly! Being an adventurer allows you to accept quests in various categories, from monster elimination to artifact hunting. But before you begin, you must register and pay the entry fee."

Yōsuke raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

Yōsuke:

"Yeah... and also see if they have any free healing items for newbies."

Receptionist:

"I don't know what you mean by healing items, but the entry fee is 1,000 Eris, and the churches are around there."

Yōsuke (thinking):

"Perfect... tutorial, and it's already asking me to farm."

Looking around, thinking like a veteran player:

Yōsuke:

"Okay... how do I get money and heal myself before quest 1?" Option A: Temporary work… Option B: Farming Level 1 monsters with nothing… Option C: Crying in a corner until an NPC shows up to help me…

Following the guild receptionist's advice, Yōsuke walks to a small church with a huge emblem at the entrance.

Yōsuke (thinking):

"Eris Church… this sounds like a safe place. They'll probably have the typical "collect 10 medicinal herbs" quest here and, while they're at it, they'll heal me for free."

Inside, a thin, bespectacled priest looks him up and down.

Yōsuke:

"Hi, I just got mugged. I need healing, and… if you have any easy jobs to earn a few coins, even better."

Priest:

"Free healing? No, the service here has a fee."

Yōsuke:

"But I'm… new. Level 1. I'm still in the tutorial."

Priest:

—I don't care about that. If you want to be cured, pay up or leave.

Yōsuke:

—And work? I could... I don't know... gather herbs for your apothecary, clean the pews, kill rats in the basement...

Priest:

—No. The temple doesn't hire injured vagrants.

Yōsuke (thinking):

—Wow... this is not a friendly NPC. Oh Lady Eris, I ask for your help in this new world that is new to me.

He turns and leaves, cursing under his breath.

[A few days later]

Between asking for jobs and arguing with guards

as if it were a system of exchange, Yōsuke ends up arrested for "suspicious behavior" and "disturbing the peace."

In a cold, damp cell, he sighs.

Yōsuke:

—Very well... mental note: this world does not follow the rules of Skyrim. Promise: I won't die here. I'll return to Japan... even if I have to defeat that Demon King so that girl who looks like Header from Dynamite's header

can grant me my wish.

"This isn't exactly how I imagined it," Yōsuke muttered to himself, as he looked up at the stars. "At this rate, I wish I could return to Japan. Everything seemed so much simpler there."

Nights of Mystery

The nights when Yōsuke slept were especially difficult. Sometimes, he would wake up in the middle of the night hearing whispers and voices he couldn't identify. At first, he thought he was losing his mind. Exhaustion and despair were beginning to take their toll.

"Hello?" he asked one night in the darkness, looking around. "Is anyone there?"

He got no reply, and soon he went back to sleep, convinced it was just the effects of hunger and cold.

However, the whispers continued. One night, while trying to sleep in the corner of a stable, the murmurs became clearer. He sat up and listened intently. It was then that he realized he wasn't alone. A soft, ethereal voice echoed in his mind.

"Can you hear us?"

Yōsuke jolted upright, staring. He looked around in surprise.

"Who's there? What's going on?"

The voices began to take shape, and it became clear he wasn't imagining things. Spirits were visible in the air, floating like soft, translucent lights.

"You're not crazy," said a female voice, as a spectral figure appeared in front of him. "We are the spirits that inhabit this world. It seems you have the ability to hear us."

Yōsuke blinked, astonished.

"Spirits? So these whispers weren't my imagination?"

The spirit nodded.

"That's right. I don't know how you can understand us."

Yōsuke rubbed his head, trying to process this new information.

"This is... quite surprising. What does it mean for me?"

The smiling spirit, who seemed a little more defined now, spoke to him kindly.

"Well, that's helpful." Now that I know I'm not crazy, can you help me find a way to improve my situation? I really need a way to earn some money and find a place to stay.

The spirit nodded.

Spirit:

"You're not as alone as you think. I heard your pleas. I've seen you resist... and I like you."

Yōsuke:

"Is this spirit like in RPGs where you unlock a ghost companion? Are you going to give me a legendary weapon?"

Spirit:

"No, but I can get you out of here. And then, I can guide you to the forest to hunt monsters. You'll earn food... and some money."

Yōsuke:

"Perfect! It's the typical "companion who saves you from the failed tutorial" quest. Let's go."

The spirit laughs.

Spirit:

"But first... you'll have to promise me something."

Spirit:

"...you'll have to promise me that you won't waste my help on some stupid thing."

Yōsuke:

—Define “stupidity” for me.

Spirit:

—Something like… I don’t know… trying to sell your magic weapon to pay for a luxury inn.

Yōsuke:

—…Okay, that would be really stupid. I promise.

With a murmur in a language that sounded to Yōsuke like a mix of Gregorian chant and cheap anime dubbing, the spirit made the cell glow with a silvery light.

Spirit:

—We spirits can borrow a fragment of the deities’ power and shape it. Here… a sword forged from moonlight.

Yōsuke (taking it):

—…Does this have DLC or is it all included?

Spirit:

—It’s all included. Now, follow me.

[Escape and Arrival at the Forest]

Thanks to the spirit passing through walls and unlocking locks as if they were simple menu windows, Yōsuke escaped. He ran past the "tutorial city" and into a moonlit forest.

There, he saw some small, furry creatures that, from a distance, looked like rabbits or squirrels.

Yōsuke (thinking):

"Oh, look at those cute little creatures... they're sure to leave leather or low-quality meat. Perfect for a starter."

But as they got closer, the animals showed sharp teeth and eyes full of hunger. Within seconds, they jumped on him, biting him on the head, arms, and legs.

Yōsuke:

"Ow!"

He staggered, his vision blurring, and felt the old feeling of wanting to run away return to him.

Yōsuke (biting his lip):

"Am I doomed to always run away from problems?... I refuse!"

With a roar, his moonblade flashing, he slashed down until the last rodent fell. Breathing heavily, he lit a fire.

Yōsuke:

"Okay... this is going to sound horrible... but I'm going to eat those bastards."

He spent the night roasting the meat, which had a strange, nutty, metallic taste. At dawn, he gathered the bones, made improvised small graves, and spoke a few clumsy words.

Yōsuke:

"I don't know if this is how your funeral culture does it... but thanks for dinner."

[On the Way to Another City]

Days later, he arrived at the next city. He discovered that surviving here was much harder than in any video game: no money, no knowledge of bargaining, and no way to afford an inn.

He ended up on a corner of the market, with a threadbare blanket over his shoulders and a cloth sack as his only possessions.

Yōsuke (thinking):

—This... isn't the life of a hero. It's the life of a generic background NPC.

Around him, villagers passed by, paying no attention to him. The smell of freshly baked bread made his stomach growl, and every now and then he saw adventurers in shining armor and bags full of coins.

Yōsuke:

—It's decided. I'm not going to remain an extra in this world... but first I need a plan. OH, Lady who is named after the currency of this world, Eris? Can you give me a hand?... Maybe if I saw other spirits, they could help me like last time.

While wandering along a path covered in dried leaves, Yōsuke heard a whisper. It wasn't wind, but voices that seemed to bubble around him.

From the mist, small floating lights began to appear: more spirits.

Spirit 1:

—So you're the human who can hear us…

Yōsuke:

—Me? Well… I guess… isn't that normal?

Spirit 2:

—No. No human can hear us… except you.

Yōsuke (scratching his neck):

—Wow… that's a rare achievement.

Spirit 3:

—We're aware of your situation, stranger. We can help you… if you help us. First.

Yōsuke:

"And what do you want? I'm not going to sign a contract that steals my soul or turns me into furniture."

Spirit 1:

"Nothing like that. There's a lost artifact in a nearby forest... a divine treasure. It was a gift to another reincarnated person like you... but he died. We want you to get it back."

Yōsuke:

"Ouch... that sounds encouraging. Did he die in an epic way?"

Spirit 2:

"He slipped and fell off a cliff."

Yōsuke:

"...Yeah, very epic."

[The Treasure Expedition]

Uncle camped at the entrance to the forest. He spent the night making absurd plans, as if it were a video game dungeon: mental maps, possible enemy spawns, and escape routes.

At dawn, he entered the forest with exaggerated stealth, crouching behind every bush. It took him an hour to go through what a villager would do in ten minutes. Finally, he found a wooden chest decorated with runes.

Yōsuke:

"Bingo! And no quick time event... I like that."

Inside, he found a gem-encrusted metal glove. He didn't know its purpose, but he put it away.

The spirits reappeared, floating around him.

Spirit 1:

"Well done. Now head to the nearest town. In Eris's church, you'll find a female Thief-class adventurer. Her name is Chris. She'll know what to do."

Yōsuke:

"Perfect... how do I get there?"

Spirit 2:

"Follow the path north, and—"

But before they finished, Yōsuke was already distracted, wondering if the glove had a "transformation" mode.

[Divine Coincidences]

On the way to nowhere in particular (because he forgot the directions), he ran into a young, gray-haired woman wearing a black bra and a light cape. Chris:

"Hey, you... are you the one who found a shiny glove in the woods?"

Yōsuke:

"Me? ...Uh... yeah. How do you know?"

Chris (smiling):

"I have my ways. Let's just say... you save me a trip."

He handed her a bag of coins.

Chris:

"Here, 1,000 Eris. Consider this payment for your services... and a free tip: if you don't want to sleep on the streets, rent a stable. It's cheaper than an inn and less dangerous than a ditch."

Yōsuke:

"Wow... this is the first transaction where I didn't lose. I think."

Chris waved goodbye with a friendly gesture, while he stared at the bag, thinking he could finally pay his adventurer registration fee.

Yōsuke began to do what every newbie does: listen to other people's conversations in the guild.

Adventurer 1 (at the next table):

"They say the Demon King is moving troops to the southern border, in Belzerg."

Adventurer 2:

"Yes, but nothing's happening here in this city. There are no adventurer quests."

Yōsuke (thinking):

"Perfect... quiet city, zero income. If I want to make a career and eventually kill the Demon King, I need to go where there's trouble. Or at least where it pays well."

He decided to head for Belzerg, its capital, the city with the most active quests. Along the way, as he crossed a hill, he saw something that made him stop: a huge dragon with black scales fighting a lightly armored adventurer with a broadsword.

The sun was just beginning to set between the treetops when Yōsuke heard a roar that chilled his blood. He hid behind a trunk and, through the leaves, saw a huge dragon fighting a red-haired mage.

Yōsuke (quietly):

"Ooooh... real-time boss fight... like I'm watching the opening cinematic of an RPG."

He watched as the mage repeatedly cast concentrated spells on the dragon's neck.

Yōsuke (thinking):

"Aha... weak spot detected. 2001 manual: "If the enemy always takes critical damage in the same place, that's the trick."

The dragon roared, knocking the mage to the ground and raising a claw to finish her off. Yōsuke, on an irrational impulse, leaped out of hiding, brandished his moonlight sword, and plunged it into the dragon's neck.

The monster let out a strangled roar, fell to its side, and stopped moving.

Yōsuke (posing with the sword):

"You don't have to thank me... although a medal would be nice."

The mage sat up, at first impressed...

Mage:

"Incredible! What level are you?"

Yōsuke:

"Level 1."

The mage's smile froze.

Mage:

"...Level ONE? Are you kidding?!"

Yōsuke:

"Huh? The important thing is that I killed him, right?"

Mage (furious):

"You killed him by surprise! Do you know how humiliating it is for a dragon to die like that? That poor creature would rather fall in glorious combat against a team of heroes!"

Yōsuke:

"Poor creature? It almost killed you!"

Suddenly, a chill ran through the air. The dragon's body began to shudder and emit a sickly green glow. Its scales blackened, its eyes turned red, and the stench of rotten flesh filled the room.

Magician (horrified):

"Oh, no! You've offended its pride. It's going to... revive!"

The dragon, now zombified, sat up with a horrifying roar.

Magician:

"In this state, it's immune to almost everything... and it even harms anyone who touches it. We can't beat it!"

The magician extended her hand, and a magic circle appeared beneath Yōsuke's feet.

Yōsuke:

" Hey, wait! What about the dragon?

Magician:

"There are much stronger adventurers near the capital. It won't be a threat... but the two of us would be dead by now."

A flash of light enveloped them, and in a blink of an eye, they were in a lantern-lit plaza: Roland City.

The magician breathed a sigh of relief.

Magician:

"Now we're even. You saved me, I saved you. End of story."

Without waiting for a reply, she turned and disappeared into the crowd.

Yōsuke (looking at the empty street):

"...How abrupt."

Magician:

"And now? I won't get my dragon pay."

During their journey, they took the opportunity to practice their new skills and learn more about the world they found themselves in. Whenever they met travelers or adventurers along the way, Yōsuke took the opportunity to exchange knowledge and techniques. If a spirit were present, he would ask them to teach him tricks. During this time, he adapted to the customs and architecture of each city.

However, as he became financially stable, he became aware of several customs that puzzled him. Although it was a bustling, active city, certain aspects of daily life seemed very primitive compared to his experience in Japan.

At a small local restaurant, he observed how the villagers ate with their hands and used latrines instead of modern bathrooms. This made him uncomfortable, as he was used to greater comfort. His otaku instinct and desire to improve things led him to a decision: to introduce some of the innovations he knew from his original world.

Yōsuke started with something simple but impactful: forks and knives. He went to the local market, bought some iron, hired a blacksmith to design them, and returned to the restaurant. With a confident smile, he approached the restaurant owner, a robust man with a prominent beard.

"Hello!" Yōsuke greeted. "I've noticed that people eat with their hands a lot in this place, and that's not very hygienic. I've brought some utensils that might make eating more comfortable. May I show them to you?"

The owner looked at him curiously.

"Utensils? We've never used anything like that here. What are they?"

Yōsuke took a fork and knife out of his bag, showing them off enthusiastically.

"These are forks and knives. They're used to eat in a cleaner and more efficient way. Let me show you how to use them."

The owner and some customers approached, looking interested.

"It looks like a miniature rake and sword."

Yōsuke took a piece of bread and cut it with the knife, then scooped it up with the fork.

"Look! With these utensils, you can eat without getting your hands dirty." Furthermore, they are very useful for foods that require more precision.

The people in the restaurant watched in amazement as some began to try out the utensils. Although they were a little clumsy at first, they soon realized the convenience they offered. The owner was impressed.

"This is amazing. We've never thought of something like this. Thank you for showing it. We will definitely consider it."

The next step in his modernization plan was to address the drainage system and bathrooms. Realizing the lack of modern facilities, Yōsuke decided to install a basic drainage system and American-style toilets at the inn where he was staying.

He met with some local artisans and explained his idea. Although they were a little skeptical at first, Yōsuke managed to convince them with his enthusiasm and technical knowledge. Together, they began working on installing a drainage system and modern toilets.

A couple of days later, the work was complete and the bathrooms were ready for use. Yōsuke invited some villagers to try out the new facilities, including the drainage system that ensured better hygiene and the comfort of American-style toilets.

He met with the villagers at the inn and showed them the new toilet.

"Welcome to the future of convenience! This is a modern toilet with a drainage system that will make your daily life much more comfortable. You can use this toilet for greater hygiene and comfort."

The villagers looked at the toilet with awe and curiosity. Some were a little uncomfortable at first, but as they used the new system, they began to recognize the benefits.

"This is amazing!" exclaimed one of the villagers. "It's much cleaner and more comfortable than traditional latrines."

Another villager nodded, impressed.

"Yes, I never imagined something like this existed. Thank you for showing us this."

Yōsuke Shibazaki had been in Roland City long enough to earn the trust and respect of the villagers and adventurers. He leveled up, gained experience, and gained fortune. One day, he saw a quest in the guild that would prove to be his redemption from an old fault: hunting a dragon.

To summarize, he combined creativity with strategy and defeated the dragon by attacking it every day until it was gone. He resisted no longer. By obtaining a huge fortune that would allow him to export his so-called inventions elsewhere.

Some time later, the adventurers demanded that the guy move; his overqualifications prevented him from taking on new quests.

[On the street, outside the guild]

Angry adventurer: "Go anywhere! You'll leave us all without jobs here."

Uncle: "Belzerg? Isn't that the country that borders the Demon King?"

Receptionist (from inside): "Yes, it's to the east. Go and conquer glory there!"

Uncle: "...Oh, right... I was supposed to come to this world to defeat the Demon King. I got a little distracted."

Adventurer 3: "A little? You've been here for two years!"

[On the way to Belzerg]

Uncle (talking to himself): "Defeat the Demon King... Pfft, I'm sure with a slow and calculated plan I can weaken him until he surrenders... Just like the dragon. No, I need help, I need a team."

Uncle arrives at the next village, with smoking houses and villagers running around. Screams and blows can be heard in the distance.

Villager 1: "Damn goblins! They've already taken two families!"

Uncle approaches curiously, listening half-listening as a villager tells him that a group of adventurers has been sent to eliminate them.

Villager: (thinking) Our village has been attacked by goblins every day, but today, our best group has been sent to finish them off… …

[Scene – Base of the mountain]

Uncle finds the team: a young swordsman with a sword bigger than him, a nervous-looking priestess, and a sturdy but visibly inexperienced warrior.

Alice (Priestess): Hey! We need help!

Rai and Ed would take Alice for a quick meeting.

Rai (Warrior): Work with him? I don't know. We don't know him.

Ed (Swordsman): But we have few options. I don't think the three of us would be able to.

Alice: Hey, they asked us to protect Dordo Village from a horde of Goblins. Would you like to help us? The reward would be serious.

Uncle: (smiles) I accept… —he accepts before she finishes the sentence—.

Alice: What?

Ed and Rai, what?

Alice: So? You're going to help us.

Uncle: It wasn't something very urgent.

*(Thinking) "It's better this way. I'll watch them in action and see if they're any good."

They climbed the mountain; hundreds of goblins were coming their way.

The group moved forward. Uncle, who would say, "Calm down, I've been in situations like this," decided to "get the goblins' attention."

Uncle: "Hey, this way! I'm here!"

When he got closer, he tried to imitate a technique from a game where you jumped high and stabbed the goblin in the head, but it didn't work.

The goblins saw him... and just moved away. There were no comical falls, just an awkward silence.

Rai (Warrior): What the hell was that?

Uncle: An advanced tactic… but for some strange reason, they didn't fall off the cliff when I called them.

Alice: Get away from me.

Rag: Damn those goblins.

Brad: Alice, run.

Goblins appear from the bushes. The fledglings panic, Ed trips over his sword, Alice, with only healing spells, couldn't do anything, and Rai tries to swing but his axe gets stuck in a tree trunk. In a matter of seconds, they capture them all, tying them up with a homemade rope.

Inside, an imposing figure emerges from the darkness: a black, muscular feline with sharp fangs and a predatory air.

Uncle: (whispering) …A tiger? No… I can't understand…

Fledgling Tiger Hunter: So they brought more fresh meat.

Uncle: Why do you hunt humans? I thought the target was goblins… is it because of the destruction of your habitat or something?

Tiger Noob Hunter: [smiles, showing his fangs] No... it's because humans are delicious.

Uncle: ...Delicious?

Tiger Noob Hunter: Yes. They cook so well... that their own flesh absorbs that flavor. A human who's eaten well is a feast.

Alice: (trembling) Can you understand what the tiger is saying?

Uncle, while the rest tremble, watches him with interest rather than fear.

Uncle: (thinking) Wow... this world sure has bosses with strange motivations.

[Inside the cave, tiger roars echoing, ropes tense, the group trapped]

Alice: (trembling) There's no way out! If we move, that Noob Hunter will tear us apart!

Ed: (sweating) Damn... what do we do now?

Rai: (looking at Uncle) Do you... have a plan?

Uncle: (serious, but calm) …Life has its course and order, guys… but if I don't do something now, we'll all die.

Alice: Does that mean…?

Uncle: (with a tired smile) Carry me when I'm done.

Ed: Huh? What do you mean by that?

Uncle: Time to apply that technique the spirits taught me a long time ago…

(Uncle lowers his head, concentrating his energy. His hands begin to burn gently.)

Uncle: Tinder!

(Small sparks appear, but then they grow into a controlled fire that burns the ropes, also scorching the tiger, which roars in pain.)

Rai: It's free! It's free!

Uncle: (with his hands free, he takes a deep breath) And now… the main course…

(He raises his arms; the cave trembles; a crimson magical aura envelops his chest. body.)

Uncle: Explosion!

(A deafening boom destroys half the mountain. The tiger, the rookie hunter, and the goblins are reduced to dust. A heavy silence fills the place.)

[Outside, at the foot of the destroyed mountain]

(The adventurers manage to crawl out, carrying the unconscious but alive uncle.)

Alice: Just a little bit! Are you okay?

Ed: I heard that using that technique drains your energy...

Rai: (looking at Uncle in amazement) That power... I've never seen anything like it.

(Uncle slowly opens his eyes.)

After that, they went to the village to receive the reward.

Ed: You're very funny.

Rai: Are you sure you want to split the reward?

Uncle: Yes, I really don't want to carry too much money with me.

Alice: Oh, sorry, I don't think we introduced ourselves properly... I'm Alice.

Ed: Ed.

Rai: Rai.

Uncle: (smiles weakly) I'm... Telma Kikiriki.

Alice: (blinks) ...Really?

Uncle: (closing his eyes) Seriously... Now, I just need to rest until I regain my energy. So you're heroes?

Alice: What? No, we only became adventurers three months ago.

[Town entrance]

(The four of them descend victorious. The villagers greet them with cheers, but soon all attention falls on Alice.)

Villager 1: That explosion was your doing, wasn't it, young Alice!

Villager 2: A heroine!

Alice: (trying to correct herself) No, actually it was—

Uncle: (leaning on Ed, muttering) Leave them alone... I'm too tired, and maybe this village needs some local heroes.

Villager 1: Would you like to say a few words?

Alice: What? May the light guide you on the right path.

[Uncle understood that those young people wouldn't be of any help against the Demon King, but if he gave them credit, they might strive to live up to the village's expectations.]

Once he recovered from using Explosion, he rejoined them.

Uncle: Well... As you know, I'm on a journey to defeat the Demon King and I'm looking to recruit powerful adventurers. Do you know any powerful adventurers around here?

Alice: Southeast of Belzerg, there's a newly founded village... it's full of very powerful sorcerers.

Rai: They call themselves the "Crimson Mages." They're made up of aspiring wizards hoping to become powerful with the help of a powerful wizard they call "The Doctor."

Uncle: (looking out the window, smiling faintly) ...Crimson Mages, huh? Sounds interesting.

Yōsuke Shibazaki had heard rumors about another reincarnated person in the region. This reincarnated creature, known as "The Doctor," had caught his attention due to his reputation and abilities. Determined to find this individual, Yōsuke left the city and headed toward Crimson Mages Village, a place known for its strange customs and peculiar magic.

When Yōsuke arrived at Crimson Mages Village, he was greeted by a group of eccentric mages, who seemed immersed in their own delusions of grandeur. The mages, dressed in dark red robes, performed strange spells and fervently discussed their latest experiments.

"Welcome, stranger!" exclaimed one of the mages, who seemed covered in dust and wore an expression of boundless enthusiasm. "What brings you to our village?"

Yōsuke looked around as he answered.

"I've heard of a reincarnated creature called "The Doctor." I'm here to find him."

The wizard looked at him curiously and then nodded.

"Ah, yes, the Doctor. He's a legendary figure among us. Do you want to know more about him?"

Uncle: (looking around with a raised eyebrow) Wow... everyone's wearing red cloaks, intense gazes... and they talk as if they're acting in a cheap play.

Wizard 1: (posing with hand outstretched) Stranger! Watch your step! You're in the realm where magic burns hotter than the sun itself.

Uncle: ...Yeah, right... what about "The Doctor"?

Wizard 2: (whispering dramatically) The Doctor... is a legendary sage who can fine-tune your abilities beyond mortal limits. He boosted my mana and gave me these mystical marks...

Uncle: (looking closely) ...That's a barcode, mate.

Wizard 2: No! It's a seal of ancient power...

Wizard 3: It gave me a charisma boost... although it only works when I wear sunglasses.

Uncle: (to himself) Yeah... they're all crazy. And the best part is, with luck, this nonsense isn't inherited...

[A while later, walking through the village]

Uncle: (muttering) Well, at least I haven't seen anything dangerous...

Wizard 5: (to another wizard, plotting) So the plan is clear! We kidnap them, seal them in sacred tombs... and they'll be a tourist attraction!

Wizard 6: Yeah... What other town has two sealed deities?

Uncle: (approaching) ...What kind of sick people are you?

Wizard 5: It's for the good of the local economy! Think of tourism!

Uncle: (crossing his arms) I... honestly don't know if I should stop them or sell them T-shirts with the pictures...

The walk became even more disturbing when Yōsuke came across a large hand-carved figure in the central plaza. The figure was of an anime girl with kitten ears, in a a provocative pose that, according to the sign near the figure, was an object of worship. The scene was a strange mix of fanaticism and cult.

"What the hell is this?" Yōsuke muttered, horrified.

Finally, Yōsuke approached the place where the villagers said "The Doctor" lived. They led him to a cave that, surprisingly, seemed quite ordinary from the outside. However, upon entering, Yōsuke was astonished to discover what appeared to be an electronics laboratory exactly like the ones he had seen on Earth.

The lab was equipped with computers, cables, and electronic devices, all meticulously organized. It was a modern and functional space, which contrasted sharply with the chaotic, magical appearance of the village. In the center was a desk with an array of electronic components and notes written in a mixture of hieroglyphics and technical notation.

Yōsuke approached the desk and examined the components. There was no doubt this place was a high-tech laboratory, similar to those he knew from his previous life. It was as if the Doctor had brought a piece of the modern world into this strange realm.

"This doesn't make sense..." Yōsuke said quietly, his eyes scanning the equipment and notes.

Suddenly, he heard a sound behind him. He turned and saw a figure looming in the cave entrance. It was an elderly, bald man with a long white beard and a calculating expression on his face.

"Who are you, and what are you doing in my lab?" the man asked in a firm voice.

Yōsuke was silent for a moment, processing the situation. He knew he had found the enigmatic "Doctor," but there were still many unanswered questions.

"I am Wild Wolf. I came here looking for the reincarnated man known as "The Doctor." It seems I've found more than I bargained for."

The Doctor regarded him with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.

"So, you're the one they've been mentioning around town? Interesting. Wild Wolf? I'd invite you to stay, but first, we should talk about what you've found here."

Yōsuke watched the Doctor approach the table with an intrigued look. The conversation became more personal when the Doctor began to speak.

"So, you're from Japan too?" the Doctor asked, his voice revealing a mixture of tiredness and curiosity. "I must say, I didn't expect to find another Japanese person in this world."
